Who’s in Rabbit’s House?
Acclaimed playwright Chinaka Hodge adapted a Masai folktale and Verna Aardema’s book into a vibrant play filled with Afrobeat and hip-hop music. “Who’s in Rabbit’s House?” tells the story of how a community mobilizes and works together to speak out against bullying and defend individual rights. The world premiere production starred students from six San Francisco public elementary schools: John Muir, Rosa Parks, Roof Top, Gratton, Thomas Edison and George Peabody. Directed by Ryan Marchand and Samantha Jackson, the play featured choreography from Jessica Recinos; music by Imanuel Junaedy and his jazz trio; with costumes by René Walker and set design by Nannette Harris.
