The Program

 

THE ACTIVITIES

The program includes theater workshops and rehearsals. During the after-school session, we meet twice a week for one and a half hours, including a break and a free snack. During the summer, our sessions meet for one and a half hours either once or twice a week.

Workshops

Get your groove on: relaxation and focus exercises: mental, vocal, physical
Act out: Improvisation and theatre games: develop concentration, creativity, language, body control and observational skills
Sound off: Script reading and singing
Step out: Dance and movement in a variety of contemporary styles
Get smart: Instruction in:

  • Basic acting, singing and production skills
  • Theatre history, the play and the playwright

Rehearsals

Work on:

  • Lines
  • Blocking
  • Songs
  • Dances

Create:

  • Script
  • Scenery
  • Sound
  • Publicity

Performances

  • Launch a world premiere
  • Perform on stage at community events
  • Attend live professional theater
